Vodafone BufferBusters

Posted September 16th, 2011 by Hello Future, .

We recently finished a fun collaboration with our friends at North Kingdom for Vodafone Germany. The goal of the experience was to establish that Vodafone is the fastest network in Germany (they really are). When we started thinking about speed in networks, we came to the conclusion that you can’t get much faster than real time. So instead of using any kind of speed reference we created a mobile augmented reality game called BufferBusters that has a strong real time feel to it. The game mechanics also helped drive users into Vodafone stores all over Germany which also felt important to us.

Hello Future helped North Kingdom conceptualize, plan and execute the overall cross-media player experience, which basically meant to work with all the interaction points and interfaces required for making this experimental gaming project come alive. We created experience paths, interaction flow charts and wireframes for the entire web and mobile experience to ensure that all the different parts were in harmony and aligned to meet the ambitious goals of the client (Vodafone) and partner (North Kingdom).

Always a great pleasure and privilege to work with all the talented people at North Kingdom and we had a lot of fun doing this!
